1. Introduction

Sevabase ("Sevabase", "we", "us", "our") is a product operated by Sevabase. Sevabase operates a multi-tenant platform that nonprofit organizations use to manage members, events, donations, and communications. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our platform.

When you interact with an organization that uses Sevabase, that organization is the party you have a relationship with, and Sevabase (Sevabase) processes your information on its behalf as a service provider.

2. Information We Collect

We may collect the following types of information:

  • Account Information: Name, email address, phone number (including mobile number), and password when you create an account.
  • Organization Information: Organization name, address, and branding when you register a tenant.
  • Payment Information: Billing details processed securely through Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers.
  • SMS Consent Records: When you opt in to text messages, we record your mobile number, the consent you agreed to, the method of opt-in, and a timestamp.
  • Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, and interactions with the platform.
  • Device Information: Browser type, IP address, and operating system.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain the platform
  • Process transactions and manage subscriptions
  • Send administrative and transactional communications (account verification, billing, security, and — where you have opted in — SMS notifications)
  • Improve the platform and develop new features
  • Comply with legal obligations

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with trusted third-party service providers (e.g., Stripe for payments, Azure for hosting, Telnyx for SMS delivery) who assist in operating the platform, subject to confidentiality obligations.

5. Mobile Information Sharing

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Mobile phone numbers and SMS consent collected for text messaging are used only to deliver the messages you opted in to. Information sharing with subcontractors that provide message delivery (for example, our SMS carrier Telnyx) is limited to what is necessary to send those messages. Text-messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties for their own marketing purposes.

6. SMS / Text Messaging Program

  • Consent: We send SMS only to members who have opted in by entering their mobile number and checking an unchecked-by-default consent box, or by texting an opt-in keyword (START, YES, or JOIN) to our number. Consent is recorded with a timestamp.
  • What we send: Messages on behalf of the organization you belong to — for example donation receipts, event confirmations and reminders, membership renewal notices, login verification codes, and occasional fundraising or donation requests and event announcements from that organization. You consent to all of these when you opt in.
  • Message frequency varies based on your activity and account events.
  • Message and data rates may apply, depending on your mobile carrier and plan.
  • Opt-out: Reply STOP at any time to unsubscribe; reply START to re-subscribe.
  • Help: Reply HELP, or contact support@sevabase.io.
  • Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

7. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS), secure database access, and regular security audits. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete your personal data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing (including SMS — see section 6)
  • Request a copy of your data
  • Object to processing of your data
